Would If I Could

I'm wearing a grin on my face at the moment in recognition of accomplishing more for the music industry in the last 15 minutes than I have for anything meaningful for the last three months. Then again, the last three months seem like a discrete year-in-itself; I cannot believe how long this year has seemed to have dragged on. I'm having difficulty remembering things I've done, since the bright flashes of greatness have all but receded into a miasma of a self painted grey...

I have to say, my interview with Sean Kinney of Alice in Chains has to be my crowning journalistic achievement thus far. So rich in detail and opinion, it seemed as if he could tell stories forever and have an audience enraptured in his voice for just as long. Hopefully I'll still have outlet to write for once the new year comes, though.

Yes, but how did you shape the industry?

It doesn't count if you just listen to some guy say a lot of awesome stuff and then write it down. 'Cause that's technically him doing all the work.

Name one person who cleaned up and wrote down neatly Beethoven's work?

Its publicity, that's why. I get more sales for him, people get interested, they go to his shows...there's more work involved than you think. It's not even his "work" - its his opinions on his work and others, really.

Ah, the systematic argument! I didn't think of that.

If the industry is comprised of a multitude of interconnected and interweaving smaller systems, then, by argument of the definition, tweaking one small component of a system on one end of the industry will assumedly (and hopefully) create a chain reaction effect, spirally downwards (or, in this case, upwards) to affect the whole system. And in light of your motivation, one could only hope that the affects are positive for all. This band gets more of a name, and you get the self-satisfaction knowing you helped them. Plus, you totally get the reputation for being an ace interviewer.

EVERYONE WINS. Except Hitler.

You don't support Hitler, do you?

No, I definitely do not support Hitler or his followers or his ideologies.

So flapping your wings fifty thousand kilometres away is causing a minor hurricane somewhere off the east coast of Progland?

I jest. Congratulations and good luck with the media career.

Wow, Hitler did a lot of good things also. Sheesh. Calm down there!

That's the chaos theory, colloquially speaking. I'm discussing the sociological repercussions. Crushtor you have a troll problem. I come here to engage and be rewarded by your insight, not to be mocked because I am a human being.

YES THAT'S RIGHT I have feelings, too.

I don't know about you, but I wouldn't tolerate this kind of nonsense. I hope my blunt attitude hasn't angered you. =(
